The Simply Starry Smudges are a brand new line here at Starryeyedsupplies, a beautiful loose herbal smudge to help you create your own Temple within your sacred space.
Each Starry Smudge is centred around a different energy of Temple in order to help you build your own energy space.
Each scent is created around a particular energy web to promote harmonous energies whilst smudging the space within; based on ancient customs of using herbs and smoke to purify a space of negative vibrations and psychic debris, each Simply Starry Smudge is hand blended and imbued by this Celtic Witch to pack a magickal punch and smell absolutely divine doing it!
For use in burning rituals of cleansing, on a charcoal disc or within a cauldron.
Each Simply Starry Smudge comes in a reusable 100ml screw top tin with moon sigil, contains a unique crystal tailored to the energy of the smudge blend, and comes with a wildcrafted Crow feather to help you smudge your space in Corvid style!

★ Spirit of the Oak, Ash, and Thorn Trees, Journeying, Protection★

"Of all the trees that grow so fair,
Old Engerland to adorn,
Greater are none beneath the Sun,
Than Oak and Ash and Thorn..." - Rudyard Kipling's book Puck of Pook's Hill

The idea of the Oak, Ash, and Thorn, is somewhat of a modern mystery.
It is said that these three trees together create an entranceway to the realm of the fae, or some feel, the Celtic Otherworld, realm of the Gods.

However the oldest documented mention of this is from Kipling in 1906, which ties the three to the realm of the faery.

What is known, is that the energy behind each of these three trees, and the Ogham associated with each, can be intertwined for incredible magical adventure.
Whether the idea of the Oak, Ash, and Thorn is a modern concept, or whether it is based on older (perhaps forgotten) folklore and wisdom, there is now belief and energy behind this tree triad, which can be harnessed by any individual to connect to the power of nature, as well as to the Celtic Otherworld.

As always, the smudges create an energetic temple, building through energy work and scent, layer by layer, an energetic temple for the practitioner in which to connect to the Spirits or Deities. This temple is an open grove created from these trees, in which to stand between worlds. It thrums with adventure and possibilities, and came to me as being a temple of 'gates and gateways.' There was a crossroads feel to this temple, as though it were placed on natural leylines in the centre of a forest.

The power of Oak - Duir is of 'deep roots' which can be harnessed for protection, grounding, and travelling. Root systems mirror the spiritual ecosystem and can provide a energetic template for spiritual meditation and journeying. Oak will also shield you from harm in your journeys.

The power of Ash - Nion is considered to be a tree of wisdom and strength in balance, and is also associated as the 'world tree' in the Nordic tradition. With the close intermingling of the Nordic people to the Celts, and the evolution of practice since, Ash can definitely be an aid travelling between worlds.

The power of Thorn - Huathe is a tree which is strongly associated with the fae in much of its folklore. If journeying to the fae and the Otherworld is the primary focus of the individual, the rich energy of Hawthorn complimented by Oak and Ash would make valuable spiritual allies.
