Spirit of the Rowan Tree Spell Oil
★ Spirit of the Rowan tree, Magick, Otherness, Justice, Protection★
Call upon the energy and connect to the Deva of the Rowan tree with this beautiful spell oil.
On the surface, Rowan is well known as the Witches Tree, the berries have a star (pentagram) at the base, and the witches cross (two rowan berries tied with red thread) is perhaps one of the most universally well-known witch charms in modern times.
Rowan is said to also protect against enchantment from Witches.Beyond this, Rowan is also said to be sacred to the Celtic Goddess Brighid - "One of Her most ancient names is Breo-saighead meaning fiery arrow " (druidry.org) and these arrows are said to have been carved from Rowan.
In Justice, the image of the flaming arrow of Rowan is evocative; as the arrow flies true and seeks its mark, illuminating the truth in the situation. The magick is piercing, akin to piercing the veil and touching the Otherworld.
The one breath technique of the Druids was a form of spellcasting that was said that if one breath was taken to utter a statement (or spell) then those words had to be true.
Magick is more needed and more necessary now than ever. We live in a world full of doubt, of censorship, of conformity and pressure to conform. Where the governing bodies seek to dictate how a person should look, feel, speak, and worship.
More than ever we need Otherness.
Otherness is embodied by the practitioner of Magick. They trust their instincts, their intuition, and seek what is not obviously seen.
One of my favourite quotes proclaims:
" The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seenor even touched - they must be felt with the heart. "- Helen Keller
And magick that runs through all things, that elevates us, enlightens us and connects us, is truly, truly beautiful.
