Starry Pillar -  Shroud of Goddess Badb honours the Celtic Goddess Badb who is thought by some to represent the Crone aspect of the Goddess Morrigan, and weaves magickal energies of Death, mystery, illusion, wisdom and the deep mysterys along with the spirit of Moths.
The aesthetic of the Spell Pillar is to capture light moving across a moth wing.

Associating Moth energy and symbolism with the Goddess Badb is a personal discovery and belief of this Witch, as it does not appear in any known mythological text.
Moths are nocturnal, and nocturnal creatures correspond to Dreamwork, Shadows, Otherworldliness, Secret Knowledge and Psychic awareness. They are considered to be seekers of light, as even when it risks their own life they will determinedly seek the light and teach us not to blindly follow anything on faith, but instead should question everything.
The phrase "Memento Mori" (remember you must die) appears frequently alongside moth imagery, particularly that of the Deaths Head Moth, which has become associated with Death and Rebirth; the realm of the Crone goddess.
Goddess Badb rules over Death on the battlefield and was known as badhbh chaointe  who presaged death as a ‘weeping’ or keening’ crow.

The Shroud element represents a mask of the Goddess Badb to this Witch in this form, the Silk Shroud that the Moth left behind in its rebirth process being reminiscent of the Phantoms Queens mask, as well as the Shroud worn by mourners.
