The Bone Birch Spell Votive was created originally at Yule and combines the energies of the Goddess Badb, Silver Birch or the Ogham Beith, and the concept of Bone Witch magick.
This combination hinges on the passage of time through the cycles of life; Bone Witch magick is representative of Death energies and the energies of Silver Birch represent Birth (life) within Celtic Witchcraft and the magick of trees; therefore Bone Birch encaptures the "inbetween" space of Rebirth; the pause, the silence and the quiet moments of personal contemplation.
Bone Birch represents the stillness and calmness of Winter, encouraging personal meditation and reflection, in order to help you to take stock of all the lessons you have thus far received and begin once again anew, renewed by this pause, and hopeful for the future.
Bone Birch also honour the Celtic Goddess Badb in her role as "Bone Queen," She who resides in those moments after Death and before Rebirth, who can be frightening to confront but ultimately teaches us the deepest lessons about our own shadows, She is eerily beautiful even clad in bones and Death.
