These beauties are based on the folklore witchery that is Granny medicine - the hot toddy.
If you grew up in Europe you likely know about these potions that our elders relied on in the winter months - a fragrant blend of whiskey, Lemon, & Honey - sometimes with cloves or cinnamon thrown in!
It was believed this was a magical cure brew for “what ails you” as gran used to say - particularly for congestion, colds or sore throats.
The spell candles reflect that old world recipe - anointed with a blend of essential oils & the tiniest drop of whiskey (spread out over many, many candles I do not want these to be infernos!!!)
For spellcraft they’re clearing - zesty uplifting lemon banishes the blues & attracts joy in the coming season.
These spell candles are the perfect antidote to the seasonal sadness - light a flame in the darkening days & clear out any lingering icky energy.
They are also loaded with wildcrafted mugwort & meadowsweet, topped with a sprinkle of fine dried orange.
 
★Whiskey has some fascinating uses in witchcraft. Did you know it’s not only a beverage used for the ancestors in offering but has ties to being a funerary beverage? It helps with the mourning process. It’s also used to ward off evil spirits!
★Lemon in Witchcraft - can be used to curse or cure, depending on your preference! It’s zingy uplifting essence is uplifting & cleansing.
★Honey - represents eternity & the enduring cycles of life. I love it. Also used to sweeten our lives naturally.
★Cinnamon - a bit of a jack of all trades honestly in witchcraft - what can’t it do? I love it for protection work & sensual spells especially
★Clove - fabulous for putting a stopper in gossip (great for the holiday season, no?) And clearing out negativity.
 
NOTE - Loaded Spell candles MUST be burned in a safe heat proof container and NEVER left unattended. 
Due to the herbs on the outside they can burn quite vigorously as they release their spell - I recommend putting them in a Cauldron.
