Originally a requested item, the scent and message of this spell range was to incredible to ignore.
This spell range takes a deeper look at the origins of Lucifer that is freed from a fear-based interpretation of his mythos:
Lucifer means light bringer, from the Latin lux “light” and ferre “to bear or bring.”
The word is only found in one place in the Bible, in the high dubious and problematic King James version at that, which (as with other problematic elements of this version), began a campaign of fear and finger-pointing as to the nature of evil.
Lucifer is mentioned only in the Old Testament, and Satan doesn’t come into the picture until the new Testament. Jesus is also known as the “Morning Star” in the New Testament, which confuses the issue even more.
But before either the Old or New Testament, Venus was known as the “Morning Star.” Plato, who is thought to have been born in 428 b.c.e. and therefore predates the New Testament and some of the rewrites of the Old Testament, wrote in his work called Timaeus:
First, there was the moon in the orbit nearest the earth, and next the sun, in the second orbit above the earth; then came the morning star and the star sacred to Hermes, moving in orbits which have an equal swiftness with the sun, but in an opposite direction; and this is the reason why the sun and Hermes and Lucifer overtake and are overtaken by each other.
Plato clearly here is speaking of Lucifer as being the actual planet Venus, with Hermes as being the planet Mercury, “moving in orbits which have an equal swiftness with the Sun.”
It appears that the misogyny of the early Solar cults and the later Roman church might have had a part to play in linking the feminine Venus with Satan:
There are also many pre-Christian myths and allegories that include stories about Lucifer, which is the Latin name for the Greek Eosphoros. … In the oldest Zoroastrian allegories, Mithra is supposed to have conquered the planet Venus. In the Christian tradition, Michael defeats Lucifer. - Patheos, Lucifer: Satan, or Venus? - Lynn Hayes
The energy of Lucifer, the morning star, associated with Venus (and potentially the divine feminine), therefore becomes a peculiar mystery, as most now associate the fallen angel with these energies inextricably and when I leant in to see what message would come through about all of this there was a tired feeling of "whatever works for humanity."
In this spell range, the energies are infused for a reclaiming of your story and yourself, particularly if you've found yourself fall victim to gossip or stories that seek to skew the truth. It has a vibration of self love as a rebellious act, so you can reclaim your sense of power and autonomy along the journey.
I suspect it would be a powerful and transformative energy for those overcoming religious indoctrination and abuse, to reject the fear-mongering stories that wanted to suppress your freedom to think for yourself.
It can of course be used in all spells and rituals of a Venusian nature as well.
★ Sandalwood in Witchcraft - is used to bring balance to the energetic body and awaken the life force within. It is also used to balance, centre and calm the mind, and for protection against negative spirits.
★ Vanilla in Witchcraft - Vanilla adds even more creamy sweetness to balance the spice within, creating a perfectly sumptuous love potion. Vanilla is used for conjuring up love, attracting a mate, to embody sensuality and to love the self. Pure passion!
★ Tobacco in Witchcraft - Originally a sacred herb used for purification and in rituals to both see the spirits of the dead as well as honouring the ancestors.
★ Labdanum in Witchcraft - Also called the Black Sun, associated with Fire, and can assist with spells of Prophecy, Purification, Protective and Defense rituals, as well as insight into ones self.
How to use this powerful energy:
★ In rituals to work with or honour Lucifer as described above
★ Before all Venusian inspired spells or rites
★ Use to help you to unravel religious conditioning
★ Use when you need to realign with your power after gossip or negative interactions
★ To reinforce your will
