Remedy to the Droch shiúl is the updated evil eye spray for 2025.
The Droch shiúl is the Irish version of evil eye or a type of malicious curse work that is often caused by jealousy or resentment, something which can be seen across cultures and societies.
It is believed the idea of the evil eye began in Mesopotamia and was adopted by the Greek and Roman cultures, and thus disseminated all over the world.
★ The Evil Eye - malicious or evil intention directed at another by a 'dirty look' or eye contact.
Folklorist Alan Dundes, in his edited volume "The Evil Eye: A Casebook" notes that "the victim's good fortune, good health, or good looks — or unguarded comments about them — invite or provoke an attack by someone with the evil eye ... Symptoms of illness caused by the evil eye include loss of appetite, excessive yawning, hiccups, vomiting and fever. If the object attacked is a cow, its milk may dry up; if a plant or fruit tree, it may suddenly wither and die." (livescience.)
The Evil eye can also be cast on purpose, which usually has a stronger energy of hatred behind it rather than 'passing spitefulness.'
